According to the CDC:
The percentage of people 18 and over who met the Physical Activity Guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity: 21.7%
Exercise for your heart and your muscles together is crucially important for many reasons!
For today’s example, its importance is disease prevention.
U.S. Department of Health & Human Services:
Recent reports project that by 2030, half of all adults (115 million adults) in the United States will be obese.
Obesity-related illness, including chronic disease, disability, and death, is estimated to carry an annual cost of $190.2 billion.
Proper and regimented exercise can absolutely lower the risks of several caners.
It can also improve a patients outcome after a cancer diagnosis is made…with a doctors consent to do so of course.
So let’s all do ourselves a favor and be contributors to raising our national average of active people well beyond 22 percent!
